Beare’s Premiere Music Festival E-mail

From 16 to 24 January, Premiere Performances will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its annual chamber music festival, formerly the Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival and now renamed The Beare’s Premiere Music Festival.

The name change honours the event’s new long-term title sponsor, J & A Beare (Beare’s), recognised by the world’s top classical musicians as the preeminent expert in the field of fine antique stringed instruments and bows since its founding in London in 1892.

Returning as Artistic Director for the eighth year is ChoLiang Lin. An alumnus of the storied Juilliard School, Lin has performed with major orchestras all over the world since his debut concert in 1980. His albums have won Gramophone Record of the Year, Grammy nominations and Penguin Guide Rosettes. He is currently a faculty member of the Juilliard School and a professor at Rice University, and retired recently after 18 years as the music director of the La Jolla SummerFest.

The 2019 Festival will host 22 internationally acclaimed musicians in concerts, a gala fundraising dinner and a wide range of outreach and education events.
