Warsaw photo exhibition of Jews seeking refuge in Shanghai Print E-mail

A photo exhibition of Jews seeking refuge in Shanghai opened in Warsaw.  Shanghai residents helped house more than 30,000 Jewish refugees seeking escape from the horrors of World War II.

The exhibition features over 150 photographs and is said to be well attended by the Warsaw community.  Shanghai was the only community after 1938 that accepted Jews without a visa.  It became an important and permanent part of Jewish history and ensured the survival of many victims.
