Israeli manufactured endosulfan recovered near Sibuyan Island, Philippines E-mail

An on-going controversy has arisen over who is responsible for drums of endosulfan that had been recovered from a shipwreck in the waters off Sibuyan Island in June during a typhoon. EcoWaste Coalition, a member of Bantay Endosulfan, argues that the drums of endosulfan should be shipped back to Israel where it was manufactured.

The EcoWaste Coalition has issued a statement to Del Monte Philippines to prepare and proceed with its plan to ship the dangerous chemical back to its Israeli manufacturer. They indicated that there is no justifi cation for keeping the hazardous material in the Philippines.
