Two Israelis sentenced to death in Thailand E-mail

Two Israelis convicted of drug trafficking were sentenced to death by a court in Thailand. The men were caught with 23,000 Ecstasy pills nearly one year ago. It was reported by the Jerusalem Post that these drugs were destined for the United States and Italy.

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said that she was considering intervening on behalf of the two Israelis unless an appeal was granted. The sentence of the two Israelis comes after other highly publicised cases of foreign nationals being sentenced to death following arrests for drug trafficking.
