Israel condemns terrorist attack on Indian Embassy E-mail

During Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Aaron Abramovich’s three-day visit to New Delhi, news came of an attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul.

Director General Ambramovich issued the following statement, “Israel condemns in the strongest terms the terrible act of terror against the Indian Embassy in Kabul, which caused so much loss of life to Indian diplomats and other innocent people.”

AJWS fight against AIDS in Asia E-mail

American Jewish World Service (AJWS) has announced a commitment of US$2.4 million in grants for 2009 to support projects connected to the global fight against AIDS.

The targeted projects, a number of which are based in Asia, address the spread of HIV and the alarming rising death toll due to the AIDS virus.

Carmel team celebrates first season Print E-mail

On 22 June, Maccabi HK Soccer held their end-of-season party and awards ceremony.

Maccabi HK had two teams competing at the final tournament, the Hong Kong Football Academy 4th Annual Tournament held at King George V School. The team made the quarter finals. Nir Horowitz walked away with the Maccabi HK team player of the tournament medal.

The team as a whole is confident that they will be hard to beat next year.

First mother-daughter Everest team waves flag for Israel E-mail

Cheryl and Nikki Bart of Sydney, Australia, became the first mother-daughter team to reach Mount Everest’s summit and the first mother daughter team to reach the ‘seven summits’, the highest summits on each continent.

In order to complete the final 7th summit, the pair first arrived in Nepal towards the end of March and began final preparations for this incredible journey to the rooftop of the world.

Israel announces Olympic delegation E-mail

The Olympic Committee of Israel announced a delegation of 38 athletes slated for participation in the upcoming Beijing Olympics.

Some of the athletes still have a few final hoops to jump throughbefore they can compete in the Olympics, including a failed drug test and reports of individual’s financial difficulties.
