Ohel Leah Synagogue gets new rabbi |

Rabbi Martin van den Bergh has been appointed as the new Rabbi of Hong Kong’s Ohel Leah Synagogue.
He is a native of Holland who was raised in Zimbabwe and educated in London at Montefiore College.
Rabbi van den Bergh has served extensively as a community rabbi in more than one large congregation in the United Kingdom.
He has also taught in Jewish day schools and has extensive chaplaincy experience. He has worked with Chief Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Sacks, as part of his Cabinet, on chaplaincy issues.
Following his education in England, Rabbi van den Bergh studied in Israel and received smicha from the Shehebar Sephardic Centre.
Rebbetzin Anna van den Bergh is herself a distinguished educationalist and public speaker, who has been involved with innovative and dynamic learning programmes for women.
The couple will arrive in Hong Kong to begin their duties directly after Yom Kippur.
