Ehlrich on Women's Day in Bangkok E-mail

Ines Ehrlich delivered a keynote address to celebrate the International Women's Day in Thailand organised by the National Council of Women of Thailand at Arnoma Hotel in Bangkok on 9 March 2009. The topic of her talk was gender equality in Israel.

Ms. Ehrlich is an Israeli writer, editor and translator as well as the public relations director for the International Women's Club of Thailand.

Eran Katz visits Hanoi E-mail

Eran Katz, the Israeli holder of the Guinness Record in memory stunts, recently appeared in Vietnam for a series of media events and lectures over the course of six days.

During his stay, Katz also met with leading Vietnamese publishers to introduce them to two of his best selling books, Secrets of a Super Memory and Jerome becomes a Genius.

Jewish library for Seoul to open May E-mail

The Jewish Community of South Korea, though in its infancy, is rapidly growing and recently moved to a new centre in Seoul at 9-8 Dongbinggo- Dong, Yongsan-Gu, 140- 770 and have plans to begin preparations to open South Korea's first Jewish library.

The library will be designed to provide information about Jewish history, culture and religion for South Korea's growing Jewish community. Rabbi Osher Litzman, Chabad's representative to South Korea, decided to start the library project as a response to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

Bar-Ilan University's new focus for Asian Studies E-mail

Bar Ilan University's has announced the development of the Dangoor Program of Universal Monotheism and launched the programme with an international conference entitiled “Monotheism in Asia.”

The inaugural conference of the Dangoor Program focused on the relationship between monotheism and morality with a discussion regarding the fact that Asia, particularly southern, eastern, and south-eastern Asia, is one of the only regions in the world where the dominant religions are not monotheistic.

Zaki Shalom lectures in China E-mail

Professor Zaki Shalom from Ben-Gurion University, an expert in Israel Security Policy, visited in Beijing and Shanghai and took part in a number of events arranged by the Israeli embassy and consulate during the last week of March.

While in Beijing, Professor Shalom met with experts from the Chine Institute of Contemporary International Relations. He also lectured at the international relations department of Peking University.
