Major Singaporean and Israeli scientific collaboration E-mail

The National Research Foundation (NRF) of Singapore announced that it has officially signed collaborative agreements with two of Israelis leading universities, the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) and the Weizmann Institute of Science.

The purpose of this collaboration is to combat heart disease and also to study how tissues and organs are formed in a second study. The cardiovascular disease project will bring together the Technion, Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore.

Hadassah lecture by breast cancer RN specialist E-mail

A privately organised lunch featuring a special guest from the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, Dr. Ilana Kadmon, RN, PhD, will be held on 25 March at the The Foreign Correspondents' Club in Hong Kong.

Kadmon is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Breast Cancer Care. She is recognised as an international expert in the field and is a prolific writer of journal articles and books on a diverse range of topics related to her field.

Walk to support Carmel E-mail

Carmel School held a walkathon in January to raise money for the school as well as to mark their 18th Anniversary.

A sea of white shirts and hats bearing the Carmel logo filled the hiking trail as over four hundred people participated to show support for the school including Sir Jonathan Sacks, Chief Rabbiof the UK, as well as representatives from the Israeli Consul General's office.

Japan and Korea abstain from UN vote E-mail

Following the escalation in Gaza, The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) passed a vote calling for Israel to immediately withdraw and halt their military actions in Gaza.
