Israel’s Amiad has been selected to treat all water filtration and sewage for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The Amiad Filtration system will be a key component to the successful operation of the Olympic Village.

Barnes & Noble 'rejewvinates' with new venture Print E-mail

Barnes & Noble is ‘rejewvinating’ readers’ love for Jewish themed books and culture and boosting online sales. They have recently announced a new partnership with Nextbook and together they promise a “new read on Jewish culture.”

Nextbook’s website is designed to promote Jewish art and culture through a webmagazine format. Along with Barnes & Noble they have developed “Jewish Encounters,” an online Jewish book club that is already proving to be successful. The series includes a variety of genres and vastly broad subject matter, designed to generate lively discussion.

The first book chosen was “The Life of David,” a portrait of the biblical king of Israel. The author, US poet laureate, Robert Pinsky participated in the online discussion.

The Nextbook Jewish Encouters series, linked through Barnes & Noble’s website, is published in cooperation with Shocken Books.

Nextbook promotes Jewish culture and the arts through the web-magazine, nextbook.org, events, book discussions with Schocken Books, the Jewish Encounters book series.
