Moving work of Yishay Garbasz exhibited in Chiang Mai, Thailand E-mail

“In My Mother’s Footsteps” by Yishay Garbasz will be exhibited in Chiang Mai beginning on 31 January.  The art exhibition will mark United Nations Holocaust Memorial Day and is presented by the Embassy of Israel in cooperation with Chiang Mai University and City Life Chiang Mai.

Chinese Spring Festival welcomed in Herzliya E-mail

A concert, China Festival - East meets West, was held by the Herzliya Chamber Orchestra under the patronage of Chinese Embassy in Israel on 19 January to greet the upcoming Chinese New Year.

The concert was performed by a full symphonic ensemble featuring fifty Israeli musicians under the direction of Chinese conductor Xu Yian. An interpretation of “Moon Reflected in Er-Quan Spring,” a beautiful piece composed by a blind Chinese musician in the 1930s, was featured as was “Song to the Yellow River,” a moving piano concerto.

Jerusalem performers take stage in Surin E-mail

The Hora Efrochim dance troupe from Jerusalem recently participated in the 2nd Surin International Folklore Festival which features daners from around the world.

The festival took place from 15-24 January 2008 in Surin, a north-eastern province in Thailand.
