This immensely impressive volume of pictures captivating the story of the Baghdadi Jewish Community in Bombay and their unique contribution to the city’s landscape has been meticulously researched and comprehensively illustrated. The book was officially released on 10 October 2013, in the in the presence Israel’s Economy Minister Naftali Bennett and of over 300 members of the Jewish Community of India at Kenesset Eliyahoo Synagogue. According to Dr Sapir the compilation has taken around nine years of research, a number field studys and countless interviews. The first draft was in Hebrew which was then translated into English. Speaking to Jewish Times Asia, Ralphy Jhirad Publisher and Managing Trustee, Bene Israel Heritage Museum and Genealogical Research Centre mentioned that both Dr. Sapir and the Bene Israel Heritage Museum had a vision together to publish the book on this subject in a picture style format.
