Hadassah International sponsored a cocktail reception featuring Dr York Chow, GBS, JP, and Secretary for Food and Health. The event took place on September at the Jewish Community Centre in Hong Kong.

Dr Chow presented “Health Care in Hong Kong and Israel: Learning From Each Other.” He shared interesting contrasts between the Israeli and the Hong Kong systems after his recent visit to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. This medical institution transcends politics and religion to provide all people regardless of ethnicity or religion with cutting-edge, compassionate care.

Dr Chow is an orthopedic surgeon by profession. He has been the Secretary for Food and Health since July 2007. Previously, he was the  Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food; a post he held for three years.
