Musicians unite for Harmony and Humanity programme |
The 10th annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days will be held throughout the month of October and this years theme is Harmony for Humanity. Organised through the Daniel Pearl Foundation, the event has become an important international network of concerts, and has grown to include more than 6,700 performances in 111 countries. Participating countries in Asia include: China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. Taiwan has particular importance where around 20 groups played last month on two outdoor stages at a free concert. The event hosted Todd Mack, who performed with Blues Vibration. Mack was a close friend and former bandmate of Daniel Pearl. The Daniel Pearl Foundation was formed in 2002 in memory of journalist/musician Daniel Pearl to promote the ideals that inspired his life and work. The foundation promotes dialogue and understanding, to counter cultural and religious hatred and to promote peace through music. Please login or register to see the full article
