Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao exchanged congratulatory messages with their Israeli counterparts Shimon Peres and Benjamin Netanyahu on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Peres commented that the Israeli-Chinese friendship, based on a shared history, common values and ancient culture and tradition, will prevail.

“Our country pays great attention to its relations with China in all areas, and is willing to conduct mutually beneficial cooperation with China in science and technology and other fields,” added Peres.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also gave a special greeting message on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.
