ZAKA, Israel’s dominant non-governmental lifesaving, rescue and recovery organisation, is to establish an International Rescue Unit in Hong Kong to offer immediate emergency response in the event of a local or regional terror attack or other mass casualty disaster.

This was decided following the recent visit of a delegation of ZAKA representatives to the Hong Kong and Singapore Jewish communities, including ZAKA chairman and founder Yehuda Meshi-Zahav, Operations Director of the ZAKA International Rescue Unit Dovie Maisel and the head of ZAKA’s Jewish Communities Division David Rose.
