Old Synagogue site in Manila looking for new tenants |
![]() |
The old synagogue that used to occupy this first sight was built in the 1920s and opened in 1925 but is now a commercial building owned by the Jewish Community of the Philippines. Situated on Taft Avenue, Malate, Manila, that was then a prime residential area. It has recently lost its tenant Avon, the cosmetics company. Since the early 1980s, when the new synagogue was opened in Makati, Avon’s rent covered most of the current synagogue’s overheads. The community is now actively looking for new tenants.
