Noah Klieger, Holocaust survivor, will be speaking to the Ohel Leah community on 27 October and will also launch the March of the Living 2008 on 31 October.
He has made it his personal mission to tell his story so that the Holocaust and its victims will never be forgotten.

Israeli killed in ferry accident |

A ferry carrying 38 Israelis and 22 other passengers capsized off the coast of Koh Phi Phi, Thailand. Honeymooner Nissim Lugassi, age 26, drowned as his new bride, Odeliah, watched helplessly. He had been struck by the motor of the boat.
The couple, married for only two weeks, was scheduled to spend the upcoming Shabbat with Rabbi Nechamya Wilhelm, co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Bangkok.

The annual Asia Pacific Poker Tour was held in Seoul, South Korea in late September.
Ziv Bachar, was awarded the first prize, a glass trophy and US$139,872 in prize money.

Special Olympics team welcomed in Shanghai |
|
Israel will be well represented and well supported at the Shanghai Special Olympic games scheduled to be held from 2 October through 11 October. The 38 member team, along with their escorts and trainers, arrived in Shanghai to join over 7,000 athletes from 169 countries.
The Israeli delegation was warmly received by Shanghai’s Jewish community which raised over US$20,000 to support the athletes. The money raised by the community provided uniforms and sports shoes for the athletes.

Gavriel Maimon pays official visit to Asia |

Mr. Gavriel Maimon, Director-General of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Labour of the State of Israel paid an official visit to Hong Kong on 2 August 2007.
Mr. Maimon was accompanied by Mr. Amikam Ben Zwi, Chairman of the Standards Institute of Israel, Mr. Yair Amitay, MD of The Israeli Industry Center for R&D, and other senior officials.
