From 2 to 7 June, Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government of Myanmar conducted a training course in Israel on preparedness for disaster situations, as part of an ongoing collaboration in this area. Six participants attended from different branches of the Myanmar government: the Myanmar Police Force, the General Administration Department and the Fire Service Department from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Public Health Department from the Ministry of Health, and the Relief and Resettlement Department from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. They participated in training workshops, observed a national drill called “Turning Point 15”, and had the opportunity to meet relevant experts in the field. The participants had previously taken part in a training workshop conducted in Myanmar by an Israeli professional last November. Please login or register to see the full article
