The Philippine Jewish community celebrated a recent simchah, with the marriage of Isaac Ofek and Mary Rose Alcaneses. The wedding reception took place on May 10, 2009, at the Manila Peninsula Hotel.

The couple were married in Israel March 16. It was defi nitely one of the most lavish events and guests agreed that it was about the most grand in anyone's memory. There were two bands, and one of the many highlights was the groom playing the saxophone.
