Chinese proficiency competition for Israeli college students E-mail

The 14th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Israeli college students took place on 21 May at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Fourteen students who are studying Chinese language from four Israeli universities and colleges participated in the competition. In addition to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Haifa University and Tel Aviv University, Tel Hai College became the new members of the “Chinese Bridge” family in Israel.

China’s Ambassador to Israel Zhan Yongxin and Vice President and General Manager of the Hebrew University Mrs. Billy Shapira attended the rewarding ceremony and delivered warm greetings.

More than 150 teachers and students watched the competition, including representatives from the universities in Israel and teachers and learners of Chinese from many secondary schools in Jerusalem.

Daniel Shmuel from Tel Aviv University won first prize, and will go to China in July to attend the finals of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students. Shani Ben David from the Hebrew University came second in the competition.
